A letter from Lucy's foster mom
Lucy is a beautiful 1 year old Aussie who is deaf AND 85% blind. I'd hoped to help her, but once I got
her to relax, realized she chases my cats, and LOVES to play so much that she plays a little too roughly. She cant be
around small dogs, and I have several rescued dogs, such as a Chihuahua, a Morkie, and a Shih Tzu. No one will take
Lucy because they say she is hopeless because she is not only deaf but almost blind. This upsets me SO much because
she is SO sweet, and asks for nothing except to love and to BE loved. One rescue told me to euth her! That I would
be doing her a favor! I am on medical leave from work because of a severe back problem, and playing musical dog is pretty
stressful. Lucy is SO smart, she learned to walk on a leash in just a week, but she pulls periodically on the leash,
in order to know where she is in relation to me, and the slightest pull hurts my back. Still, I can NOT give up on her.
She has the right to LIVE.
productservice: I really need to have Lucy moved to another home ASAP, but know in reality
that this probably wont happen - no one wants her... I am praying that if you post her on your web site, someone with a heart
of understanding will save her. Like I said, she is SO smart, and so full of love. Thank you very much for this
opportunity. I'd given up hope for Lucy, but knew I would not EVER kill her! I just prayed that Lucy and I
would find a way.
